Privacy Policy
How Shiv Engineering & Elevators (SEE) collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you interact with our website, quote enquiries, WhatsApp service line, AMC accounts and on-site visits. Drafted in line with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act"). It applies whenever you visit shivengineeringelevators.in, request a quote, send a WhatsApp enquiry, subscribe to an AMC contract, attend a site survey, or otherwise share information with us.

How we use your data
We use the personal data we collect only for the specific purposes you would reasonably expect when engaging with a manufacturer-installer of lifts and material-handling equipment:
- To respond to your enquiry — preparing a quotation, scheduling a site survey, sending technical specifications.
- To deliver and install your order — coordinating logistics, dispatch, on-site fitment, commissioning and acceptance testing.
- To honour the warranty and AMC — maintaining service records, dispatching engineers, sending preventive-maintenance reminders.
- To meet our legal obligations — GST invoicing, statutory record-keeping, lift-safety inspection reports as required by state Lift Acts.
- To improve our website and service — analytics, customer satisfaction follow-up, refinement of our product catalogue.
We do not use your personal data for automated profiling, automated decision-making, or for advertising you on third-party platforms.
Lawful basis & consent
We process your personal data on the following lawful bases under the DPDP Act:
- Consent — when you complete a quote form, send us a WhatsApp/email enquiry, or subscribe to communications. By taking that action, you consent to the processing described in this Policy for that purpose.
- Legitimate uses — to perform a contract you have signed with us (sale, installation, AMC), to respond to your service requests, and to comply with applicable law (e.g. statutory invoicing under the CGST Act).
You may withdraw consent at any time by writing to grievance@shivengineeringelevators.in. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before withdrawal, and it does not affect data we are required to retain by law (e.g. tax records).

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to advertisers, data brokers or any other party for commercial gain.
Cookies & analytics
Our website uses a small number of cookies and similar identifiers:
- Strictly necessary cookies — keep the site working (session token, security). These cannot be disabled.
- Preference cookies — remember your settings (e.g. dismissed mobile bar).
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, IP anonymisation enabled, used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies may break the website.
Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as needed for the purpose we collected it, or for a longer period if required by law:
- Quote enquiries that did not convert: 24 months from last contact, then deleted.
- Customer order records: 8 years from the date of invoice, to satisfy CGST/IT record-keeping rules.
- AMC and service records: for the life of the AMC plus 3 years, to honour warranty enquiries and product-safety traceability.
- Website analytics: aggregated, retained 14 months.
- WhatsApp conversations: retained on the workshop device for the duration of the customer relationship; deleted on request.
Cross-border transfers
Our hosting and primary infrastructure are in India. The only data that may be processed outside India is the anonymised analytics data processed by Google Analytics (data centres operated by Google LLC in the USA and elsewhere). We rely on Google's published transfer safeguards. The Central Government may, from time to time under the DPDP Act, restrict transfers to specific countries; if any such restriction applies to a transfer we make, we will comply with it.
Your rights as a Data Principal
Under the DPDP Act, you have the following rights in respect of your personal data:
- Right to access — a summary of the personal data we hold about you, the purposes for which we use it and the recipients we share it with.
- Right to correction and erasure — to ask us to correct inaccurate data or to erase data we no longer need for the purpose for which it was collected.
- Right to grievance redressal — to raise a complaint about how we process your data, via the Grievance Officer named in Section 12.
- Right to nominate — to nominate another individual to exercise your rights if you become incapacitated or in the event of your death.
- Right to withdraw consent — see Section 4.
To exercise any of these rights, email grievance@shivengineeringelevators.in with the words "DPDP request" in the subject. We aim to respond within 30 days. If we are unable to comply with your request (for example, because we are required by law to retain the data), we will explain why in writing.
Children's data
Our products and services are aimed at adults and businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal data from any individual under 18 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Security
We maintain reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data — TLS encryption on the website, access controls on our workshop systems, principle-of-least-privilege for staff accounts, regular software updates, and physical security of our workshop premises.
No system is impenetrable. In the event of a personal-data breach that is likely to cause harm to you, we will notify the Data Protection Board of India and the affected individuals in line with the DPDP Act.
