Industrially, the state runs on the Durgapur–Asansol steel and coal belt, Haldia's petrochem port, and the historic Howrah foundry and engineering cluster — all heavy goods-lift, cargo-lift and EOT-crane markets — while Salt Lake and New Town add IT-campus passenger lifts.
